Julia was elected to federal parliament in 2016 under Malcolm Turnbull’s government. But after Scott Morrison ousted Turnbull and took over as Prime Minister, Julia quit the Liberal Party and served out the rest of her term as an independent. She recently released a tell-all book, Power Play, in which she writes about sexism in politics and the toxic culture in the current Liberal Party.
